Sparkling tea brand Saicho works with smallholder farmers around the world to preserve the ecological diversity of tea cultivation areas in different regions and the traditional tea-making process.

This new product, “Sixty Stone Mountain Sparkling Tea”, is selected from Sixty Stone Mountain in Fuli Township, Hualien County, Taiwan, at an altitude of 945 meters. The moisture brought by the Pacific warm current Kuroshio makes the tea exude a honey-like sweet fragrance, which is very special. The bubble tea is rich in the aroma of black honey, mango, apricot and lemon, accompanied by ripe pear, grilled pineapple, cedar and a hint of smoke. This rich bubble tea can be perfectly paired with different delicacies, from the rich miso black cod and sweet and sour pork ribs to the sweet and aromatic caramel pudding.

The packaging of this rare bubble tea is also outstanding. It is inspired by the “Imperial Pheasant”, a bird species endemic to Taiwan. It is a symbol of the local natural beauty and cultural significance. The design pays tribute to the mountain forest origin where the tea grows. The striking feathers of the Imperial Pheasant are just the right combination to reflect the uniqueness and luxury of Saicho’s rare tea series.

The tea leaves of “Sixty Stone Mountain Sparkling Tea” are hand-picked in July, carefully processed, and fermented into 90% oxidized black tea. After several months, the tea leaves are re-roasted to retain and better develop the rich aroma and rich flavor. This process, coupled with the natural transformation promoted by the small green leafhopper, gives this bubble tea a unique flavor like honey.
